Why NZXT Cam Software Is Not Working with Google’s Epson scanner
The Epson software used by Google is supposed to read your handwriting.
It’s the same software used in the Cam and Google Glass.
But if you’re using Epson to read text on a tablet, it won’t work.
“We’re aware that some people may be using the Epson system and may have noticed that it doesn’t work when the iPad is in use,” a spokesperson for NZXT said.
“It’s a security issue and the software will be updated as soon as possible.”
“We are aware of the issue and will work with Google to resolve it as soon a solution is available.”
The spokesperson said it would be a few weeks before the software was ready to be installed.
But the company is confident the software can work with iPads.
“It will be a while before the Epoch scanner is ready for deployment,” it said.
“As soon as we have the Epons software, we will have an update available that will help resolve this issue.”
The software will have a ‘safe mode’ where it will not work and a ‘trace mode’ to assist in locating the offending device.
“Google has also issued an advisory to Apple customers.
Apple has said it is aware of this issue, but said it’s too early to say if it’s an issue with Epson.
This is a developing story.
