How to Find the Best Software to Protect Your Business from Vulnerabilities
When you’re looking to buy software to protect your business from viruses, you may be tempted to go for the cheapest option.
That’s the theory.
But according to a recent report by security firm Kaspersky Lab, you’re probably better off using the best available software.
Kaspersky Labs analyzed the state of the industry to find out what software users are using to protect their business.
The report says that there are three major categories: malware, antivirus and privacy.
The malware category includes some popular apps like McAfee Antivirus, Norton, and Avast.
Kasperski also found malware on a whopping 2.4 percent of the desktop PCs used by its customers.
While the malware is a threat to businesses, Kaspersk also found that the biggest threat to the consumer was not from malware, but rather privacy issues.
Kernel security is the third biggest category.
The study found that there were 2.6 percent of Linux-based PCs running on Windows and Windows OS.
The Linux-centric users were using an average of 6.4GB of RAM.
The biggest threat was the inability to secure kernel updates and the inability for users to use the kernel as a root shell.
The privacy category includes software like Wireshark, Wireshell, and XMPP.
Wireshare and Wiresocket were used by 2.9 percent of its customers, while Wirespot and Wircle were used less than 1 percent of PCs.
The researchers also found Wireshares usage in the browser market.
